KRISHNAGAR, 17 APRIL: As many as 10 BJP leaders of the party’s Nadia North District Committee have resigned from their posts over differences with the party’s district president Arjun Biswas, today.
In the letter addressing to the party’s state president and general secretary (Organisation), the rebel leaders alleged they have been forced to resign from their posts as most of the district committee posts including the post of district’s general secretary have been kept defunct by the district president.
They also alleged that Mr Biswas did not pay any respect to the versions or opinions of different committees during the last municipal election and he took every resolution including the financial expenses based on his own decision.
This apart, in case of selection of Mondol Sabhapati, Mr Biswas has inducted leaders at these posts based on his own choice. In this regard, he deliberately ignored the decision of party’s Assembly in-charge and Zone in-charge. As a result, in most cases, inexperienced and incapable leaders were inducted in the Mondol Sabhapati posts.
The rebel leaders also alleged that Mr Biswas without discussion with the district committee members allots responsibility to his own men for conducting any organizational work across the district.
A few days ago, the rebel leaders had locked the door from outside of the party’s district office in Krishnagar and put up posters on the walls to protest against the despotism of the party’s district president Arjun Biswas.
They also wrote on the walls of the party office demanding immediate resignation of Mr Biswas from his post.
This comes just a day after the party suffered a major setback in bypolls in Asansol and Ballygunge.
