KURUKSHETRA, 5 DEC: In the ongoing International Gita Mahotsava, as many as 100 foreign students of Kurukshetra University will present their research papers on the holy book Gita.
Students hailing from Afganistan, South Africa, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Mauritius and other countries who are studying in various departments of the varsity will submit their papers at the International Gita Seminar scheduled to hold in Kurukshetra university from 9 to 11 December.
An official spokesperson said students will present their research paper on the topic of ‘contribution of the Holy Book Gita to the freedom movement’.
International Gita Mahotsava is being organized in Kurukshetra from 2 December to 19 December. The main events of the Mahotsava will be held from 9 December to 14 December.
Amid the chanting of ‘shlokas’ on the banks of the Brahma Sarovar, state Tourism and Education Minister Kanwar Pal inaugurated the Saras and Crafts Fair to kick-start the International Gita Mahotsav-2021 celebrations on Thursday evening.
Artistes of the North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala, and the Haryana Kala Parishad accorded a rousing welcome to the participants.
