The state library minister Siddiqulla Choudhury will inaugurate the book fair and the state correctional home department minister Ujjal Biswas will be present as a chief guest, the organisers of the fair said.

Every day, the fair will be open to the public from 12.30 pm to 7.30 pm, while during holiday it will be open from 12 noon to 8 pm.

However, keeping in mind the fact that the Covid-19 is still a looming threat, the organisers have decided to take measures for better crowd management this year. No one will be allowed to enter the premises without mask. This apart, masks and sanitiser will be available at the fairground and in the stalls. A total of 50 stalls will be set up as per the instruction of the state government.

The theme of this year’s book fair has been chosen as ‘Moder Garab Moder Asha, Aa Mori Bangla Bhasha’. The main stage of the fair has also been named after the eminent writer Buddhadeb Guha.
