KRISHNAGAR, 21 MAY: In a significant step towards environmental conservation, Kanyashree University organized a tree plantation program today. Dr. Anirudhha Saha, the academic coordinator of the university, inaugurated the event, joined by enthusiastic students from the Department of Education. This initiative marks the beginning of a long-term commitment to fostering a greener future.
During the first phase of the program, students from the second and fourth semesters collectively planted 30 trees. The university has outlined a two-year care plan, during which these students will tend to the plants. Upon their graduation, the responsibility will be handed over to the incoming batch of students, ensuring continuous nurturing of the plants.

For now, the university has focused on planting indoor plants, given that the institution is currently operating within the premises of the prestigious Krishnagar Collegiate School. “Once we receive permission from the school authorities, we plan to extend our efforts by planting trees outside the school premises,” said Dr. Saha.
The program has garnered positive feedback from the student community. “This initiative not only beautifies our campus but also instills a sense of responsibility towards the environment,” remarked a participating student.
Kanyashree University’s tree plantation program is guided by the slogan, “Embrace a Greener Future: Plant Today, Present Forever.” This initiative reflects the university’s commitment to sustainability and its proactive role in combating climate change. The administration hopes that this program will inspire other educational institutions to undertake similar green initiatives, fostering a collective effort towards a healthier planet.
