BURDWAN, 26 APRIL: Two posters in red Bengali letters in the name of Maoists further sparked off sensation in the villages in Bankura Junglemahal today in which the ultra Naxalite front vowed to wage war against the state as their revenge against the ‘killing of Kishenji’.
Posters however were bearing words like ‘Khela Hobe’ and ‘Hori Bol’ were hired from the Trinamul Congress and the BJP.
In the residents of Bhusurdihi village in Goalbari Panchayat area in Sarenga PS area, a pair of posters appeared on the wall. The posters also warned about corruption by the government employees and the leaders of the ruling Trinamul Congress. One of the posters also bears the words – ‘Khela Hobe’ – coined by the TMC’s firebrand leader Anubrata Mondal ahead of the 2021 Assembly Elections.
The TMC’s organizing district president in Bankura, Dibyendu Singha Mahapatra rejected the existence of the Maoists in Bankura and alleged that the ‘hopeless BJP cadres’ were responsible for such posters. The BJP’s district president Sunil Rudra Mondal claimed: “The corruption by the TMC leaders is inviting such posters.”
Mallojula Koteswar Rao alias Kishenji was the Politburo member of the Maoists who also led several operations in the South Bengal’s Junglemahal as the chief of Central Military Commission of the banned ‘revolutionary’ outfit. He was shot dead on 24 November, 2011 by the state police during Mamata Banerjee government promoted ‘Operation Green-hunt’ deep inside the Lalgarh forests in neighbouring Midnapore West.
After 11 years when the wound could have healed, the cry for a revenge by the outfit might surprise the police, though the intelligence officials are giving a serious heed to the development saying: “At a time when the Central agencies lent a tip off about attack on the policemen in the Junglemahal districts, such posters hint about assembly of the rebel forces.”
Kishenji, in an eight pages fax message to the state government described the former Chief Minister Jyoti Basu as a negative model of Communist movement in the whole country stating: “This is why Basu is such a favourite of bourgeois Zamindaars, this is why the whole ruling class of the country comes to visit him if he’s ill.”
On Sunday evening, the Bankura police arrested two young Maoist cadres- Arkadeep Goswami and Mustafa Kamal alias Tipu Sultan from their hideouts in Bolpur in Birbhum. The Court ordered eight days police remand for them yesterday.
