KRISHNAGAR, 9 MAY: Ashu Ghosh, former CPI-M state committee leader and Nadia district secretary died at his house on Saturday evening. He was 82. He breathed his last at 7.15 pm.
The Left Front chairman Biman Bose and the party’s state secretary Surya Kanta Mishra consoled the death of the veteran leader. Expressing grief at the death of the party’s former district secretary, Sumit Dey, the party’s Nadia district secretary said he was always dedicated to the welfare of farmers.
Mr Ghosh died due to his old-age ailments. His body was first taken to the Krishnaganj party office where the local party leaders paid their tributes. Later, his body was taken to the Krishnagar district party office where the leaders paid glowing tributes to the departed leader. From Krishnagar, his body was taken to the Nabadwip burning ghat where he was cremated.
