He said after winning in four states, BJP as a return gift is increasing the fuel prices, cooking gas, and kerosene almost every day thus escalating the prices of essential commodities.

He also lashed out at the Centre for imposing 28 percent GST on all medicines including life saving drugs.

Mr Banerjee said, “We are the only party who hit the street against the fuel hike but Congress and the CPI-M who raise their voices against the Trinamul Congress and Mamata Banerjee were not seen to hit the street against BJP’s fuel prices and its faulty economic policy.

He also lashed out at the BJP for using the agencies like CBI, ED  income Tax against the  Oppositions. “We never expected that will have to hold a by- election in Ballygunge Assembly constituency but the untimely death of  Subrata Mukherjee compelled us to hold this by-poll.”

Mr Banerjee said after Subrata Mukherjee won from Ballygunge constituency at a margin of 73,000 votes, the Central BJP used CBI and ED to arrest Subrata Mukherjee. But CBI failed to arrest it’s one of its FIR named accused as he changed his sides and now in BJP.

During Covid, Trinamul Congress is the only party who went door to door looking after the people by providing them food medicines and other medical help. But no other Opposition parties were seen on the street. During 2021 Assembly poll, the BJP leaders were seen in the state and again before 2024 these leaders will be visible.

Mr Banerjee said, “The shameless government at the centre waive the entertainment tax of a particular movie to support their political ideology but imposes 28 percent GST on medicines.”

Without naming Suvendu Adhikary, Mr Banerjee said Babul Supriyo has resigned as MP and then he is contested in Ballygunge constituency but he (read Suvendu) should come clear about his father’s position.

Mr Banerjee conducted a road show for Babul  Supriyo from Ballygunge Phari to Mullickbazar.

All councilors of Ballygunge constituency, leaders, both presidents, Trinamul youth and TMCP workers and supporters thronged the road as the procession moved from Ballygunge Phari to Mullickbazar.
