KRISHNAGAR, 27 APRIL: Sambhu Biswas, a Sub-Divisional Information and Cultural Officer (SDI&CO) of Kalyani and Ranaghat sub-divisions in Nadia died on Monday in Kolkata hospital while being treated for Covid-19.
Biswas, a 59-year-old responsible administrative officer who had performed his poll duty as a media-in-charge at the media cell on 17 April for the fifth phase of the assembly polls, had been suffering from some illness.
The next day he tested positive for Covid-19 and got admitted in a Kolkata hospital. Yesterday, he felt better and was recovering from his ailment. But, this morning, he passed away and he is survived by his mother, wife and son who are all eventually Covid-19 patients.
