BJP forms all-woman 5-member fact-finding committee to probe Hanshkhali gangrape case

NEW DELHI, 13 APRIL: In the Hanshkhali rape and death of a minor girl case, the BJP has formed a fact-finding team of five women leaders from different states to ascertain the details of the fact.

The BJP national president JP Nadda has formed a five-member team including UP Lok Sabha MP Rekha Verma, UP Minister Baby Rani Maurya, national women wing president Vanathi Srinivasan, Khushbu Sundar, NEC, Maharashtra and Bengal MLA Sreerupa Mitra Chaudhary.

According to party sources, the team will visit Hanskhali in Nadia district and will soon submit a detailed report to Nadda.

The BJP release reads, “BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda has nominated a five-member fact-finding committee to visit the place of rape and murder of minor at Hanshkhali, Nadia, West Bengal.”

The committee, with all the five members being women, has been asked to submit its report at the earliest.

Meanwhile, Trinamul Congress Rajya Sabha MP and party’s spokesperson Sukhendu Shekhar Roy today lashed out at the BJP for politicising a henious crime like rape and murder of a minor girl.

Mr Roy lashed out at BJP’s fact finding team that will go to Hanshkhali and said, “A party rejected by people of Bengal not only in Assembly poll but also in municipal polls has set up a fact finding committee to prove its presence in Bengal.

BJP is a dwindling political party in Bengal and a political party has no authority to investigate.
