The PM would address public on 10 April in favour of the party candidate Mukul Roy, the party’s national vice-president. The BJP has pitted Mr Roy for Krishnagar assembly constituency where the ruling TMC has fielded film star Koushani Mukherjee and Congress under the banner of Sanjukta Morcha fielded Silvi Saha.

The party’s district convenor Arjun Biswas, party leaders including Sandip Majumdar and Arup Das and party’s observers and workers attended the puja. The rituals were performed by a team of ‘Brahmins and Acharyas’.

The venue ground has capacity to accommodate a large crowd. Earlier, different parties including BJP had held public rallies during poll campaigns on this ground.

The local unit of BJP is working hard to gather a large crowd for which they have already started meeting people and asking them to be a part of the PM’s rally.

Meanwhile, the Special Protection Group (SPG) team led by an assistant inspector general rank officer is likely to take over the responsibility of security for the proposed programme from tomorrow.

The party leaders are making elaborate arrangements to ensure presence of a good number of people in the rally. The party leaders also seem to be seeking divine blessings to ensure the rally’s success.
