AHMEDABAD, 10 FEB: The Border Security Force (BSF) has seized 11 Pakistani fishing boats from Harami Nalla Creek area along Indo-Pak maritime border of Bhuj in Gujarat on Thursday morning.
On receiving information on intrusion of Pakistani fishing boats and fishermen into Indian territory on Wednesday late afternoon, DIG BSF Bhuj immediately launched a search operation in the Harami Nalla area, spread over almost 300 sq km.
GS Malik, IG BSF Gujarat Frontier, rushed to Kutch from Gandhinagar on Thursday and is personally monitoring the massive search operation, officials said.
“During a routine patrolling, BSF personnel had released a camera-mounted UAV in the sky to get a bird’s eye view of the area. During one such UAV mission, we found nine fishing boats in Harami Nala. BSF patrol boats quickly reached the spot and seized those boats belonging to the fishermen from Pakistan,” G S Malik told a news agency.
According to officials, three groups of commandos were dropped by Air Force helicopters from three different directions to find the Pakistanis suspected to be hiding in the area.
It’s a challenging task for the troops as they faced extreme marshy area, mangroves and tidal waters are making task of the troops challenging, officials said adding that BSF has seized 11 Pakistani fishing boats so far.
