HANSHKHALI, 15 APRIL: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials and Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) team today once again visited the house of the prime accused Brojo Gayali and conducted a thorough investigation into the minor rape and murder case.
During the raids, the central agency team recovered a mobile phone from the backyard of the house. They also seized a few clothes from the house of the accused. The forensic team also tried to collect fingerprints from there. Later, the CBI officials sealed the house.
As it was alleged that the 14-year-old girl was gang raped at the birthday party of the prime accused, the CBI officials today collected the name of the third accused after interrogating the arrested youths. Accordingly, the CBI officials raided the house of one Ranjit, but the house was locked from outside.
Earlier, the police arrested Brojo alias Sohail, son of the Trinamul Congress Gajna panchayat member Samar Gayali and his friend Prabhakar Poddar.
Meanwhile, a four-member woman team of BJP visited the house of the victim and they talked with the parents and family members of the victim. They also visited the crematorium where the minor was allegedly burnt by the accused.
After paying their visits, Rekha Verma, a member of the BJP’s fact-finding committee alleged that chief minister Mamata Banerjee is overlooking the matter.
“A woman CM (Mamata Banerjee) is making condemnable statements about the rape of a 14-year-old and overlooking the matter. She should apologize. We demand President’s rule in the state; she should quit her seat,” said Khusbhu Sundar, another member of the team.
Ms Verma said, “I’ll hand over the report to party chief JP Nadda tomorrow. CM didn’t accept that the girl was gang raped. Women are not feeling safe here.”
