KRISHNAGAR, 22 JUNE: This year, the Ratha Yatra of ISKCON at Mayapur in Nadia will have special attraction to the devotees as the wheel of Bladev’s chariot from Puri has reached Mayapur. The wheel of the Puri chariot has already been placed in front of the Samadhi Mandir in Mayapur, the main center of Iskcon for display and those who will be unable to go Puri will get a chance to have glimpse of the wheel.
On 1 July, the Ratha Yatra of Iskcon, Mayapur will be celebrated from Rajapur village, around 4 kilometer from Iskcon, Mayapur temple with usual fanfare and grandeur. “This is a festival of joy and bliss wherein their Lordships Sri Sri Jagannath, Baladeva and Subhadra Maharani is carried on the Ratha for a journey with pomp and grandeur. The Ratha is accompanied by the devotees singing and dancing the holy names of Lord. Local and international devotees, residents and pilgrims will enthusiastically take part the festival with all enthusiasm and devotional spirit,” said Krishna Vijay Das, General Manager, Iskcon.
In this regard, Ramesh Das, PRO of Iskcon, Mayapur said, “Puri’s chariot is an attraction to the common man. Many people do not get a chance to visit it. The Rath Yatra has not been celebrated in that sense for the last two years due to the rules and regulations of Corona, so this time the Rath Yatra will be celebrated with great pomp. The wheels of this four-foot-four-and-a-half-kilogram chariot are one of the attractions of Mayapur Iskcon’s chariot. “
