KRISHNAGAR, 19 FEB: As the Krishnagar municipal polls approaches, the Congress has tightened its stance to prepare for the ensuing elections. The Congress candidate Monika Kar from ward number 17 has already written a letter to the West Bengal State Election Commission demanding to conduct free and fair election and to ensure transparency.
In a letter addressing to the Commissioner, Mrs Kar alleged that a number of antisocial elements belong to the ruling Trinamul Congress have already started terrorizing the people.
She apprehends that the ruling party might resort to unfair means during the election process.
“We have the information that the ruling party will create a conspiracy for forced voting at the booths. We apprehend that there may be rigging in the counting of votes,” Mrs Kar said in her letter.
She also urged before the election commission to deploy proper force to ensure free and fair polls.
