KRISHNAGAR, 9 JULY: An elderly man has lodged a complaint with the Chief Medical Officer of Health (CMOH) about having received a vaccination certificate even though he hasn’t taken any jab.
This bizarre incident occurred at Babla HWC of Govindapur in Nadia today.
The worried elderly, Manindra Goswami has appealed to the district health authority suspecting misuse of his personal identification documents by the staff posted at the centre. He also urged that he should be provided a jab unless he would not be able to get the jab from anywhere.
Mr Goswami said he had registered for a second dose of Covishield vaccine at the government’s CoWin app yesterday. The app instantly sent a message with Reference ID and Secret Code to the registered mobile informing that he would get the jab from Babla HWC from 10 am to 12 noon on 9 July.

Accordingly, when he reached the center, an Asha worker told him that no one would get a vaccine without a token. He then showed his documents to a civic volunteer who after checking his documents informed that no outsider would be allowed to get the vaccine.
However, the elderly man managed to leave without taking a jab but, to his horror, received a certificate on the registered mobile in the evening informing him that his second vaccination dose was successful.
The surprised family has now sought clarification from the health department in this matter.
Neither CMOH nor the hospital authority was available for comment.
