KRISHNAGAR, 20 MAY: Factional feud within the Trinamul Congress once again came out in the open in Krishnagar last night, with a section of ruling party workers rampaged the house of the party’s youth leader Kunal Chowdhury.
Tension gripped among the party workers as the attackers allegedly headed by Tanmay Ghosh, TMC Town Youth president armed with sharp edge weapons carried out the operation at a place which is barely 100 meters far from the Kotwali police station. They threw stones at his house breaking the window panes and hit the doors with sharp edge weapons. Before leaving the place, they threatened him on dire consequences.
Later, Kunal lodged a complaint with the Kotwali police mentioning that the attackers had threatened him to kill. He also informed that the entire incident was seen in the CC cameras where it was clearly seen that TMC’s Krishnagr Town youth president Tanmay Ghosh alias Dustu was leading the operation.
When asked Ashim Saha, former chairman of the Krishnagar civic body and prominent TMC leader said “Kunal is a very popular youth leader and his house was attacked by a section of party’s workers who are associated with the party’s ruling lobby. If proper action is not taken against the attackers, we will be on the street with regards to this matter after the end of the pandemic.”
The party’s district chairman and state correctional home minister Ujjal Biswas, however, said, “This is not a big thing. I will look into this matter.”
