MIDNAPORE, 5 APRIL: Four teenagers escaped from a government’s shelter home in Midnapore on Sunday. Later, the two teenagers returned in the afternoon. The incident occurred at Vidyasagar Balika Bhaban, a government shelter home in Midnapore early yesterday morning.
The officials said the teenagers broke open a window and fled in the early hours. “The staff at the shelter home found the girls missing and informed their superiors. One of the windows was found broken,” an official said.
According to officials, police have started investigating into this matter. A search operation has been launched in the area to find out the other two teenagers.
Home authorities told the police that the four teenagers were rescued from different parts of the district and brought to the home between the 15th and 26th of last month. The four were kept at home on the orders of the Juvenile Justice Board and the court.
Local residents alleged that how the teenagers could escape even in presence of a police camp and CC cameras inside the shelter home campus.
However, the police are interrogating the two teenagers who came back to find out why the four girls tried to escape together.
