His goal is simple but profound: to ensure that nobody in India dies due to a lack of blood by the end of 2025. With his unwavering commitment and tireless efforts, Kiran is proving that one person can make a difference and change the world.

Kiran Verma’s journey to promote blood donation awareness in India started from a heartbreaking incident. It was a call he received from someone who told him about a poor family in need of blood in Raipur, Chhattisgarh in 2016. Without a second thought, Kiran rushed to donate blood to the family for free. But when he met the family, he found out that someone had already taken Rs. 1500 from them for the blood he donated. The family had even resorted to prostitution to pay for the medical bills. This incident deeply moved Kiran, and he decided to make a change.

Kiran quit his job and started Simply Blood, with a goal of ensuring that nobody should die due to a lack of blood by 2025 in India. He started his journey by walking 21,000 kms to spread awareness about blood donation and encourage people to become donors. His journey has been tough, but he has covered more than 11,500 kms through 169 districts so far, with a determination to continue until his mission is achieved.

Kiran has reached Kolkata on 24 March and his next destination will be Bangladesh, Tripura and other part of North East followed by rest of the West Bengal.

Kiran’s walk has inspired many people, and they have come forward to support his cause. More than 19,095 units of blood have been collected through 97 blood donation camps organized across India. In addition, more than 5000 individual donors have donated blood at different blood banks across India and abroad to support this campaign. This shows how people are willing to contribute to a cause they believe in.

Kiran’s journey is not just about walking and collecting blood. He has also inaugurated a blood bank in Hyderabad in the name of PV Narasimha Rao and organized a marathon in Varanasi where more than 100 people participated. These initiatives show how Kiran is not just promoting blood donation but also creating infrastructure and community support to ensure that blood is available to those in need.

Through his journey, Kiran has highlighted a significant issue in India – the shortage of blood. Every day, more than 12,000 people fail to get blood, and more than 3 million people have died due to non-availability of blood. Kiran believes that if 5 million youth start donating blood, there will be no deaths due to non-availability of blood in India. His walk is a step towards achieving this goal.

Kiran’s journey is a story of determination, hope, and the power of community. He has shown that even one person can make a difference and inspire others to join the cause. His story is a reminder that small actions can have a big impact, and we can all contribute to making the world a better place.
