According to an official statement by the Odisha Police, the officer had shared confidential missile test data with a foreign agent of Pakistan in exchange for sexual favors and monetary gratification.

The officer has been booked under sections 120-A, 120-B, 34 of the Indian Penal Code, and sections 3, 4, 5 of the Official Secrets Act, 1923. The police officials are currently interrogating him to gather more information about the incident.

Reports suggest that the officer was honey-trapped by a Rawalpindi-based Pakistani woman, which led to the leakage of confidential information. The possibility of involvement of more ITR staff in the incident cannot be ruled out, and further investigation is currently underway.

This incident raises concerns about the security measures in place to protect sensitive defence information and highlights the need for stricter protocols to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.
