CHENNAI, 13 FEB: In a significant stride towards bolstering education, innovation, and skill development in deep-tech disciplines, the IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation has joined forces with the Jharkhand University of Technology (JUT) in Ranchi through a strategic partnership. The collaboration aims to harness the potential of Jharkhand’s abundant resources and talent pool to drive forward the realms of technology and entrepreneurship.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formalized on the 5th of February, 2024, as Dr. MJ Shankar Raman, the CEO of IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation, and Dr. DK Singh, Vice Chancellor of Jharkhand University of Technology, inked the agreement. Notable figures including Prof. V. Kamakoti, Director of IIT Madras, and Prof. E. Balagurusamy, former Vice-Chancellor of Anna University, Chennai, were present at the signing ceremony, underscoring the significance of this collaboration.
At the heart of this partnership lies a commitment to fostering innovation, skill development, industry-academia collaboration, and incubation support for nurturing startups. With IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation’s expertise in the Technology Innovation Hub on Sensors, Networking, Actuators, and Control Systems, funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, the alliance seeks to channelize resources and knowledge to propel Jharkhand’s technological landscape forward.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. V. Kamakoti, Director of IIT Madras, emphasized the transformative potential of the partnership, stating, “This MoU will propel the Start-up Ecosystem in Jharkhand for creating the culture of innovation, startups, and entrepreneurship.”
Echoing this sentiment, Dr. DK Singh, Vice Chancellor of Jharkhand University of Technology, highlighted the holistic benefits of the collaboration, affirming, “This MoU will create an ecosystem in Jharkhand for establishing a culture of innovation, start-ups, and entrepreneurship.”
The partnership is poised to lay the groundwork for the development of Jharkhand University of Technology’s Research Park, facilitating seamless collaboration between academia and industry players. By promoting research, innovation, and incubation, the alliance aims to catalyze economic growth and enhance the quality of technical education in Jharkhand.
