BURDWAN, 13 APRIL: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) now has set to float pilgrimage for two destinations on air, which according to the senior officials, is the first ever attempt by the facilitator that always has maintained Railway journey.
Two religious destinations – Kedarnath temple and Badrinath temple, as stated Sourav Chatterjee, Chief Supervisor (Eastern Region), IRCTC here today, “Are accommodated as the pilgrimage and for that we have reserved air services for the first time aiming to facilitate the elderly citizens.”
He added “We’ve prepared different affordable seven days tariff plans for the pilgrims.” Previously, the IRCTC, though had arranged air journey for the tourists from abroad, however. Gyan Chandra Prakash, Tourism Assistant, IRCTC said: “We’ll kick off flights from Kolkata on 20 May.”
Kedanrath and Badrinath temples located in Uttarakhand are two of the four sacred ‘Char Dhams’ of the Hindu religion. Other two locations of Char Dhams are – Yamunotri and Gangotri – both in Uttarakhand.
