KRISHNAGAR, 4 DEC: Kalyani university today launched a Women Entrepreneurship Development through computer aided on-line business certificate course in view to empower women through digital learning and entrepreneurship programme.
Inaugurating this six-month certificate course under the department of Centre for Women Studies, Prof Manas Kumar Sanyal, vice-chancellor of KU varsity said, “With the help of RUSA fund, we launched the certificate course to empower women in the field of online business. Kalyani municipality has agreed to extend their support to us. After completion of the course, the aspiring women will be independent and self-sufficient.”

A total of 15 women under this course will be given e-computer training. Besides providing basic computer knowledge, they will also be taught about e-entrepreneurship, e-business, e-commerce, e-filing of income tax return and other related online business items.
Apart from this, the aspiring women will get information about government projects on women empowerment and basic knowledge of fund transfer, said Prof Kakali Dhara Mondal, director of Women Studies.

“Entrepreneurship is the state of mind which every woman has in her but has not been capitalized in India in a way in which it should be. Women entrepreneurship development is an essential part of human resource development,” said Prof Mondal.
Prof Goutam Paul, assistant vice-chancellor, Prof Tapas Mondal, administrator of Kalyani municipality and Prof Amalendu Bhunia, dean of Arts were also present in the programme.
