Khadi Gramodyog Bhavan organises special Khadi Exhibition in Nadia

KRISHNAGAR, 24 DEC: Khadi Gramodyog Bhavan and Khadi and Village Industries Commission under the Ministry of MSME have organised a special Khadi Exhibition for the first time at Krishnagar Public Library Ground in Nadia in association with Bengal Federation of Certified Khadi Institutions. The exhibition will continue up to 3 January and it will open from 1 pm to 9 pm everyday.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr V Shivakkumar, state director, KVIC, Kolkata in presence of Mr V R Balasubramaniam, deputy director/manager, Khadi Gramodyog Bhavan, Kolkata, Mr Malay Kanti Biswas, district officer, West Bengal Khadi and Village Industries Board, Nadia and Mr Nityananda Chowdhury, general secretary, Bengal Federation of Certified Khadi Institutions.

The officials who visited the Exhibition following the inaugural programme showed keen interest in the products on display. In the exhibition, there are 36 stalls out of which 26 are allocated to the Khadi institutions and 10 for the village industries.

Various districts like Murshidabad, Malda, Birbhum, Kolkata, North 24 Parganas, Burdwan and Hooghly are participating in a big way.

On display are varieties of silk i.e. mulbary, tassar, munga, andi; woolen shawls with Kashmiri embroidery, jackets, coats and large number of ready to wear garments in cotton, wool, silk and poly Khadi and wide range of herbal products including cosmetics.
