KRISHNAGAR, 4 APRIL: As many as 15 persons have been arrested for illegally possessing firearms and ammunitions from different police station areas under Krishnagar Police District in the last 24 hours.
SP, Krishnagar Police District, Ishani Paul said the accused persons hailing from Kotwali, Bhimpur, Krishnaganj, Chapra, Nabadwip, Dhubulia, Nakashipara, Kaliganj, Tehatta, Karimpur, Murutia, Thanarpara, Hogolberia and Palashipara police station areas have been arrested for possessing firearms illegally.
She said police officials have seized 15 fire arms and 15 rounds of ammunitions from them during the special drive in the last 24 hours.
Following Rampurhat carnage, all police stations across the state began special drive to confiscate illegal fire arms and bombs.
