KRISHNAGAR, 8 NOV: Three Durga Puja committees, who participated in the Safe Drive Save Life awareness campaign during puja festivity, have been awarded prizes for their extraordinary performances by the Krishnagar Police District today.
The awards were given under three categories – Best SDSL awareness campaign, Best SDSL awareness display and Best SDSL theme.
Kechuadanga Bazar Dishari Sangha under Murutia police station has won the best SDSL awareness campaign and Debogram Puratan Bazar Byabsayi Kalyan Samity under Kaliganj police station has bagged the best SDSL awareness display while Chapra Heaven Club under Chapra police station has won the best SDSL theme.
Ms Ishani Paul, Superintendent of Police said a total of 19 puja committees across the police district had participated in the competition. A committee which was formed to judge the categories visited the sites at different zones during the puja and they selected three puja committees for their best performances.
“The initiative was taken for building more awareness among the people and these puja committees had helped us,” said Ms Paul.
