KRISHNAGAR, 31 MAR: The Indian Premier League (IPL) fan parks are set to return after a three-year gap, much to the delight of cricket enthusiasts across the country. With the COVID-19 pandemic having put a halt to the concept, the BCCI is reviving it this season, with plans to cover over 45 cities across 20 states and two Union Territories.
According to Ardhendu Ghosh, Apex Council Member, CAB, two fan parks have been set up in West Bengal, in Krishnagar and Coochbihar. He added that the experience would be akin to being at the stadium, with every moment captured on giant screens and live action being broadcasted. Entry is free, and the fan parks will offer a range of entertainment options, including music, food stalls, and official merchandise.
The fan parks will be spread across various regions of the country, including Surat, Kota, Dehradun, and Hubli, and promise an exciting and entertaining community-viewing experience for cricket fans. Every weekend throughout the tournament, there will be five fan parks.
The TATA IPL 2023 season started with a blockbuster clash between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings at the world’s largest cricket stadium, the Narendra Modi Stadium, in Ahmedabad on Friday. The first fan park of the season was held on the same day in Madurai.
The BCCI has announced that fans will have the opportunity to witness the TATA IPL 2023 final from as many as five fan parks across Jammu, Jamshedpur, Palakkad, Jorhat, and Bhopal. The return of the IPL fan parks is a significant development for cricket enthusiasts who can now enjoy the matches with their fellow fans and revel in the stadium-like atmosphere.
