KALYANI, 27 AUG: Kalyani University on Friday inaugurated a Lily pond in the campus of its administrative building. While addressing at the inaugural programme, Vice-Chancellor Prof Manas Kumar Sanyal said the pond has been renovated as a part of the beautification project and “we have given its name as Sriparnah”.
Prof Sanyal also said that a grass lawn would be set up around the pond within a few days. “Our objective is to reach out to the students, teachers, academics and guardians. A love for flora should eventually lead to conservation,” said Prof Sanyal.

Prof Sujay Kumar Mandol, director of the institute’s public relation department, said, “Soon after his joining as a vice-chancellor, Prof Sanyal had formed a Beautification Committee and this committee is now conducting beautification works across the university campus.”
In the inaugural programme, Dr Debangshu Roy, Registrar of the university, Finance Officer, Mridul Kundu and other officials were present.
