KRISHNAGAR, 22 AUG: As the country continues to reel from the R G Kar Hospital case, protests have erupted across the nation, with the state’s only technical university, Makaut, adding its voice to the growing demands for justice. Today, around 250 workers from Makaut’s Haringhata campus staged a protest march, expressing their outrage and calling for the swift punishment of those responsible.
The workers began their march from the university campus and walked to Bara Jaguli, covering the route along National Highway 12. The procession, marked by passionate slogans and placards, drew significant attention from the public, with many expressing support for the protesters’ cause.
The placards bore messages condemning the alleged brutal crime in the R G Kar Hospital case and urging the authorities to take immediate and decisive action. The protesters emphasized that their demands reflect the broader sentiment of the nation, which is united in its call for accountability and justice.
After reaching Bara Jaguli, the protesters retraced their steps back to the university campus, maintaining a peaceful demeanor throughout the demonstration. The atmosphere was charged with determination, as the workers voiced their solidarity with similar protests happening across the state and country.
“The R G Kar Hospital case is a serious issue that cannot be ignored. We, as members of the academic community, stand with the victim and demand that those responsible are brought to justice swiftly,” said a spokesperson for the protestors.
This protest at Makaut is part of a larger wave of agitation sweeping across the nation, with citizens from all walks of life joining in the call for justice. The pressure on the authorities continues to mount as the public waits for a resolution to the R G Kar Hospital case.
