KRISHNAGAR, 10 APRIL: Amid voting for the fourth phase of the assembly polls in West Bengal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday held Trinamul Congress supremo Mamta Banerjee responsible for using violence as a means of protection and “stooping so low after watching her seat slipping away”.
Accusing her of saddling the state’s youth with unemployment, riots and lathis, Modi said, “Handicraft, business, marketing, investment aren’t among TMC’s priorities. Didi’s TMC is an expert in ‘tolabaazi’, cut-money.” He also alleged that TMC is an expert in killing BJP workers and is an expert in rigging.
While addressing an election rally at Krishnagar Government College ground in Nadia, the PM said that Mamata Banerjee defames voters and undermines electronic voting machines (EVMs). “Today, Didi is abusing the central corps. Today, Didi is abusing EVM. The situation is now at a stage where Didi has started abusing the polling agents of her own party today,” the Prime Minister said.
“She is so desperate that she is defaming Bengal’s voters. Didi, O Didi! The people of Bengal don’t expect you to have sensitivity anymore,” PM Modi warned.
Sharpening his attack on Mamata, Modi said, “Respected Didi, remember, this is Bengal of 2021. Now you will not be allowed to play with democracy. The more you are trying to frighten the people of Bengal, the more people are coming together to defeat you.”
He also said, “The reason behind Didi’s anger is not only BJP and Modi but the people whose trust Didi has broken.” “The minority community that Didi persuaded is at distress so she needs to appeal to them continuously”, he added.
Raising his voice for the people of Bengal he said, “This election is not only being fought by BJP but people of Bengal are also fighting this election.”
Coming down heavily on the state’s ruling party, Modi said, “What did the TMC government give to the youth of Bengal—unemployment, riots, lathis, and now, insults. Even the minority classes that Didi continued to serve are also in distress due to cut money and syndicate.”
Impressed on watching a large crowd at the venue, Modi assured the people saying, “After decades of a long wait, the Mahayagya of Asol Poriborton has started in Bengal. After years of bloodshed, fear, atrocity and goondaism, Bengal will now walk towards peace and progress to fulfil the vision of ‘Sonar Bangla’. This land will be freed of mafia, cow traffickers and infiltration.”
The BJP has come into existence with the blessings of Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee, PM Modi said adding that his party is fortunate that the people of Bengal are going to give them the opportunity to serve Bengal.
“Here in every particle, there are stories of our faith, our philosophy, our spirituality. The BJP is the only party in the country whose ideological energy has been getting from the soil of West Bengal,” Modi said in his address.
