MIDNAPORE/JHARGRAM, 19 MAY: AITC chairperson Mamata Banerjee today gave a clarion call to all her party workers and supporters to take a lead to dislodge an autocrat government at the centre in 2024.
She said Midnapore has taken a lead in India’s independent movement and in the 75th year of India’s Independence “I will come to West Midnapore again on 9 August when Gandhiji started the Bharat Chharo movement against the British. I will launch a movement against Delhi.”

She also asked her workers to start movements at booth levels against the Centre for not releasing funds of MNREGA scheme. Yesterday, in an administrative meeting, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee drew up a crisis management involving several departments.
She asked the workers that whenever a BJP leader comes to your village gherao him and ask him why the Centre is not releasing the fund of MNREGA.
Miss Banerjee today lashed out at the BJP and said, “They are envious of us as they could not defeat us or remove me from West Bengal as chief minister. They are spreading canards about violence after people of West Bengal rejected them.
Miss Banerjee said, ‘There are some people who deliberately tries to create fear among the people of Jhargram and stop tourism and other developmental activities. A thorough investigation is required on this issue,” she said.
She also asked the villagers especially women keep to an eye on the troublemakers and inform police and respective BDOs.
She urged the villagers not to trust the BJP, CPI-M and Congress who had never done any good to the people.
She said during CPI-M’s rule, people used to get jobs through slips. “We have got enough evidence and very soon we are going to bring those cases in public. “Without naming Partha Chatterjee, she said if someone does mistake he would be given time to rectify.”
She said lakhs of people have come to attend her meetings on both the days.
“You all have been sitting here, braving the heat since the morning I am indebted to all of you to my tribal brothers and sisters, I extend my salutations and greetings,” she said.

“Today, women in Bengal work everywhere, and for this, I want to thank the Self Help Groups, the Asha workers, the ICDS workers.
She thanked the women and girls who made state government projects like Lakshmir Bhandar ,Kanyasree, Sabuj Sathi, Rupashree successful.
“I want to thank my farmers and artisans for helping the state government grow,’ she said.
“I will also meet my booth workers, because they are the soul of our party,” she said adding that it is because of them that AITC keeps winning people’s hearts.
“I will always prefer that person, who will reach out to the people and help them in need,” she said.
