KRISHNAGAR, 13 APRIL: A 36-year-old man allegedly shot dead his wife before shooting himself after a quarrel at his home at Panditpur under Thanarpara police station area in Nadia tonight.
Police official said the couple identified as Sanoar Mondol (36) and Makhona Bibi (27) died on the spot. They were first taken to Natidanga rural hospital where the doctor pronounced them brought dead.
The family members said the couple was suffering from family dispute since many years. They often used to involve in quarrel and tonight they engaged in similar squabble. “At around 9 pm, we found a sound of shooting. We rushed to their room and found the couple lying on the floor and pool of blood oozing out from their heads. We immediately called the police who later retrieved the bodies to the hospital,” a family member said.
An investigating police office said they would send the bodies to the Saktinagar district hospital for postmortem.
