MIDNAPORE, 22 MAY: Panic ensued at Goaltore forest area in West Midnapore when a heavy iron object unexpectedly plummeted from the sky on Monday afternoon. Initially feared to be a bomb, residents and passersby were relieved to discover that the object was an empty oil tanker belonging to a MiG-29 fighter jet.
The incident occurred at approximately 3 pm in the serene surroundings of Gowaltore’s Siraboni forest. Startled witnesses reported seeing the container descending rapidly from above, sparking immediate curiosity among onlookers. The object bore a striking resemblance to a World War II bomb, intensifying concerns among those gathered.
