Nadia Congress suspends its two leaders over ‘anti party’ activities and ‘breach’ of discipline

KRISHNAGAR, 4 APRIL: The Nadia district Congress suspended its two leaders from Kaligang block over “anti party” activities in the run up to the assembly elections.

The party’s district president Ashim Saha today in a press conference announced that Chand Mohammed Sahanur Hossain Munshi, Kaliganj block working president and Kaviruddin Sheikh, vice-president have been suspended for six years with immediate effect for anti party activities and breach of discipline.

Mr Saha said over the last few months Sahanur and Kaviruddin have been vocal about their views over the party’s leaderships. “I personally talked with them and asked them not to go against the party. But, they have been critical for the last few days over the party’s decision in selecting candidate for Kaligang assembly seat. Incidentally, Kaviruddin fielded himself as an Independent candidate against the party candidate Abul Kasem. As per the instruction from party’s state chief Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, we, the district committee took a decision from a meeting held yesterday to suspend them for six years,” said Mr Saha.
