KRISHNAGAR, 8 JAN: The Nadia district administration has taken a commendable step towards enhancing educational accessibility by launching a free coaching camp for students preparing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), aiming to pursue medical degrees. The camp, targeted at students of classes 11 and 12 from government schools, is being held in Krishnagar.

District Magistrate Mr. S. Arun Prasad, while inaugurating the initiative at Rabindra Bhawan, stated, “This is the first time we are organizing such a coaching camp for NEET aspirants. Students are being selected based on their academic results to ensure inclusiveness and accessibility for all. This initiative reflects our commitment to creating an equitable education system.”
The camp, set to take place at the DOMA office within the district collectorate premises, will be conducted every Saturday, Sunday, and on other holidays. Pathfinder, a renowned coaching organization, will provide training in both online and offline modes.
Ms. Mahua Moitra, Member of Parliament from Krishnagar, applauded the effort during the inaugural event. She remarked, “Cracking the NEET exam is incredibly challenging, especially for students from government schools who may lack the resources for private coaching. This initiative by the district magistrate, supported by Sub-Divisional Officer Ms. Sharadwati Chowdhury, is a significant step forward. If even one student succeeds, it will be a moment of pride, encouraging us to extend such camps to more remote areas in the district.”
Also present at the inauguration were Nadia Zilla Parishad’s Sabhadhipati, Tarannum Sultana, and other dignitaries who expressed their support for the initiative.
While speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Ms Tarannum Sultana said , “The coaching camp aims not only to equip students with the tools to succeed in the competitive examination but also to inspire confidence in government-led educational interventions. With plans to expand the initiative to rural areas if successful, the district administration is setting a new benchmark in fostering inclusive education.”
