KRISHNAGAR, 31 DEC: After a blistering day of action, the senior women hockey team of Nadia district has lifted the Inter District State Women Hockey Championship thrashing the Hooghly district team 4-0 in the final held at Srirampore in Hooghly on 30 December.
Suparna Mistri scored two goals while Manisha Bhakat and Supriya Bahadur scored one goal each. In the tournament, Mamoni Biswas, captain of Nadia district team has been selected as the best player.
The chief functionary of the Nadia District Hockey Association, Susanta Kumar Haldar said, “With the victory of this year’s championship, the Nadia’s senior women hockey team has won the tournament for the fifth consecutive time.”
Himangshu Ghosh and Akhilesh Santra have performed their duties as the trainer and manager of the team respectively.
