KRISHNAGAR, 27 SEP: The Nadia district administration is set to organize the Nandanik Nadia Language Festival and Fair at the end of this year, celebrating the region’s rich linguistic and cultural heritage. A preparatory meeting was held this morning at the district administration building to finalize plans for the event.
The meeting saw the presence of key dignitaries, including Minister Ujjal Biswas, MP Mahua Moitra, Sabhadhipati of Nadia Zilla Parishad Tarannum Sultana Mir, District Magistrate S Arun Prasad (IAS), MLAs, and other district officials. The officials discussed various aspects of the festival, including its cultural significance, logistical planning, and community involvement.
The Nandanik Nadia Language Festival and Fair will showcase the district’s linguistic diversity and artistic talents through cultural performances, literary discussions, and exhibitions. It will also offer workshops on local dialects and literary traditions, aiming to preserve and promote the unique language and culture of Nadia.
Minister Ujjal Biswas highlighted the festival’s importance in fostering pride in regional identity, while MP Mahua Moitra expressed her support, noting how the festival could serve as a platform to draw attention to Nadia’s cultural richness.
District Magistrate S Arun Prasad outlined the event’s logistical framework, ensuring efficient management of crowds and security while promoting local participation. The fair will also feature stalls showcasing regional crafts, cuisine, and cultural artifacts.
