KRISHNAGAR, 27 SEP: The Nadia district committee of Paschimbanga Zilla-Parishad Karmachari Samity today felicitated the members of the newly formed district committees of Trinamul Congress in Nadia district.
The felicitation programme was arranged at the Dwijendralal Roy conference room of Nadia zilla-parishad where the state’s correctional department minister Ujjal Biswas, Sabhadhipati Rikta Kundu, Saha-sabhadhipati Dipak Basu delivered their speeches.
The party’s Nadia North district committee president Jayanta and Nadia South district committee president Ms Ratna Kar and other committee members were greeted by the Samity’s Nadia district unit president Atul Chandra Hawladar and secretary Anup Sen.
During his speech, the minister Ujjal Biswas said, “It is not the felicitation programme but this programme is to take oath for the win in the coming panchayat elections. I hope that everyone will take oath so that we can win every seat of the zilla-parishad. We will have to assure a opposition-free zilla-parishad.”
He also said, “The opposition BJP leaders are now involved with the theft of Sabuj Sathi cycles. In recent incident at Hanshkhali, BJP leaders were caught distributing Sabuj Sathi cycles to their men illegally. When our party workers opposed, they fired at them. Our party’s booth president, a woman sustained bullet injuries. We salute for her bravery.”
