KRISHNAGAR, 21 SEP: A family dispute at Tegharipara-Sashthitala under Nabadwip police station limits in Nadia on Tuesday took ugly turn when a man in his twenties allegedly bludgeoned his uncle to death.
The accused youth named as Biplab Debnath also got severe injuries as his uncle – Gourgopal Debnath also attacked him with a sharp edge weapon.
The duo was immediately taken to the Nabadwip hospital where Gourgopal succumbed to his injuries while Biplab was referred to the Saktinagar district hospital as his condition was critical.
According to the local residents, Gourgopal, a lottery ticket seller returned home at around 3 pm. He put his cycle at a place beside the road which his elder brother Narayan Debnath, a trolley van driver objected him. This led to a verbal altercation between them. All of a sudden, Narayan allegedly attacked his brother. On watching the incident, Narayan’s son Biplab also attacked his uncle and started hitting him with a lathi.
Police official said they have started a probe into this matter and initiated a case.
