KRISHNAGAR, 26 AUG: As part of its commitment to empower female students and bridge the gap between remote villages and professional opportunities, the Placement Cell of Asannagar Madanmohan Tarkalanka College inaugurated a six-day Opportunity Skill Training Program in collaboration with Mahindra Pride Classroom. The program, exclusively designed for girls, kicked off auspiciously on the 16th of August, 2023, in the college’s seminar room.
Distinguished guests including Dr. Ashok Kumar Das, the Principal of the college, Soumen Pal, the Convener of the Placement Cell and Head of the Department of Philosophy, along with other esteemed professors and teaching staff, marked their presence at the opening ceremony of this transformative training initiative.
Highlighting the necessity of such initiatives, Soumen Pal, the Convener of the Placement Cell, mentioned, “Year after year, students from our college, hailing from remote villages, face challenges in preparing for job exams due to financial constraints. To address this gap, the placement cell organizes discussions on exam preparations and occasionally facilitates placements. This six-day training, conducted in collaboration with Mahindra Pride Classroom, focuses on job exam preparation and interview skills.”
The training, led by Sandeep Mitra, aimed to equip students with the essential skills required to excel in job exams and interviews. A comprehensive curriculum was designed and covered over the six days. Participants were provided with study materials and certificates upon completion, enhancing their employability prospects.
Dr. Ashok Kumar Das, the Principal, emphasized, “Empowering women is crucial for the progress of our society. It is incumbent upon organizations to take unique steps to support girls.” The training was met with enthusiasm by the female participants, who saw substantial improvements in their interview skills and confidence.
This initiative marked a pivotal moment for female students at Asannagar Madanmohan Tarkalanka College. Overcoming initial hurdles, many students developed fluency in job test interviews, setting a strong foundation for their future careers. Recognizing the success of this endeavor, the college aspires to organize more inclusive training and workshops, catering to both male and female students.
Dr. Anirudh Saha, a prominent figure in the Department of Education, underlined the significance of this training, stating, “The skills imparted during this training will be particularly instrumental in aiding students’ preparation for a variety of job exams.”
As the program concluded, it left an indelible impact on participants, equipping them with invaluable skills and knowledge that will undoubtedly shape their professional journey.
