District magistrate, Shashank Sethi said, “We have formed 16000 teams to organize the camps across the district. Today, around 75000 people have attended the camps in the district. Till today, around 2.75 lakh people have reached the camps and most of them have registered forms. In many cases, we have resolved the issues and the rest of the issues will be solved within 11 to 20 April.”

The initiative, which aims to provide government services and schemes at the doorstep of citizens, has seen the formation of over 5751 camps across the district. Officials from various departments, including health, social welfare, food, power, and civil supplies, have been available to assist residents in filling up application forms and providing information.

One of the key focuses of the initiative has been on providing financial assistance to various groups, including farmers, students, and women. Schemes such as Krishak Bandhu, Lakshmir Bhandar and Medhashree have been in high demand, with many people lining up to apply for them.
The Duare Sarkar camps have also been instrumental in resolving various issues faced by citizens. Officials have been able to provide immediate assistance to people who had been struggling to access government services or schemes.

According to the reports, more than 1,09,649 people filed applications for various schemes such as Khadya Sathi, Bidhaba Bhata, SC, OBC schemes, Kanyashree, Sikshasree, Krishak Bandhu and others till today. Among the applications, a total of 74,073 applications have already been approved. The other schemes in focus were Medhashree, Bhabisyat Credit Card, and micro-irrigation under Bangla Krishi Sech Yojna.

“Medhashree is a scholarship scheme for OBC students that was initially a central scheme, but the Centre later stopped it. The Bhabisyat Credit Card scheme will provide loans up to Rs 5 lakh to set up businesses,” said an official.

Mr Sethi said, “The camps have been organised with the objective of making it easier for people to access government schemes and benefits by bringing the government to their doorstep.”

“The Duare Sarkar initiative has been a massive success in West Bengal, providing a platform for citizens to access various government services and schemes without having to go through the bureaucratic hurdles,” an official who was monitoring the camp said.

Residents of Chapra were delighted with the initiative and lauded the efforts of the government. “This is an excellent initiative by the government, and it has helped me access the schemes that I was not aware of earlier. The process was smooth and hassle-free,” said a resident.

The success of the initiative has not gone unnoticed, with several state governments taking inspiration from West Bengal’s Duare Sarkar campaign. Recently, the Uttar Pradesh government launched a similar initiative called ‘Mission June’.

Overall, the Duare Sarkar initiative has been a game-changer for many people in West Bengal, providing them with access to much-needed government benefits and services. As the initiative continues to expand across the state, it is expected to benefit millions more in the coming weeks and months, a senior administrative official said.
