TEHATTA, 3 MAY: Addressing a massive crowd at a campaign rally at Shyamnagar in Tehatta under Krishnagar parliamentary constituency in Nadia amid the scorching heat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched scathing criticisms against the Trinamul Congress (TMC), the Left, and the Congress, labeling their vision as lacking and asserting the BJP-NDA as the sole contender for government formation in the upcoming elections.
With an air of confidence, PM Modi declared, “Trinamul Congress will not be able to win more than 15 seats. Congress, despite all its efforts, might not be able to even cross the half-century mark. Everyone knows the condition of the Left parties even in West Bengal now. So in such a situation, the BJP-NDA is the only force that will be able to form a government after the elections.”
In a bold challenge to the opposition, Modi questioned, “Can the TMC by winning 15 seats, the Congress by getting less than 50 seats or the Left Front, which has lost its support base, win the elections and form a stable government? The answer is no. Only the BJP-led NDA can win the polls and form a stable government.”
“The only question that remains now is whether NDA will cross the 400 mark this time or not,” he added.
Continuing his assault, PM Modi targeted the Congress, asserting that their parliamentary tally would plummet to an all-time low. “Let the Congress try as much as it wants, but the party won’t be able to cross the half-century mark this time. They would struggle to get even 50 seats,” he remarked.
Addressing the crowd, he outlined his vision for a Viksit Bharat while alerting the audience to the opposition’s agenda of looting and dividing the nation. Promising accountability, he assured the people that those responsible for looting the nation would be held to account.
“I am incredibly blessed, beyond what I could have imagined. If my aim was merely to hold the position of Prime Minister, to enjoy its perks, I could have achieved that in just one month. But I am here with a singular resolve—to serve you, to serve our nation,” PM Modi commenced his speech and added, “my life’s purpose is to fulfill your dreams. I am here to serve each and every one of you, every citizen of our country. Your children are not just your future, they are the future of our nation, and I am committed to shaping that future, together with you.”
Turning his attention to contentious issues, Modi challenged the Congress and the opposition alliance to affirm in writing that they would not tamper with reservations based on religion. “The Congress wants to do the same as they are angry with the OBCs, Dalits and the tribals because they supported Modi,” he claimed.
Hitting out at the alliance, the PM said the INDIA bloc of Congress, TMC and the Left parties “has only one policy – appeasement”,
“First, they divided the country on the basis of religion, and the brunt was borne by communities like the Sikhs, Christians and Parsis, who were left stranded on the other side. To take care of such communities, our government decided to bring the CAA, but these parties, including the TMC, are fighting tooth and nail against it to not upset their vote bank,” he said.
Reaching out to the Matua community of West Bengal, PM Modi added: “We had hoped that the TMC would support the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, as the Matuas would benefit from it. But, the state’s ruling party is opposing it for their vote bank politics.”
Not sparing the ruling TMC in West Bengal, PM Modi warned them of facing repercussions for their alleged corruption and hindrance of development initiatives. “In West Bengal, Trinamul Congress is also looting the money of poor people,” he accused, adding, “Out of that grievance, Trinamul Congress government has blocked the implementation of several Central development projects in West Bengal.”
Highlighting the recent recovery of arms in Sandeshkhali, North 24 Parganas district, PM Modi questioned their intended use, insinuating potential threats to the democratic process in the state.
In a bid to rally support for the BJP in West Bengal, PM Modi emphasized the necessity of electing more BJP candidates, asserting that a stronger NDA government at the Centre would pave the way for further development in the state.
The Prime Minister also urged the gathering to elect the BJP candidates – Rajmata Amrita Roy for Krishnagar, Jagannath Sarkar for Ranaghat and Dr Nirmal Kumar Saha from Behrampore from Tehatta rally.
