MIDNAPORE, 26 MAY: The Department of National Service Scheme at Raja Narendra Lal Khan Women’s College (Autonomous) in association with Union ministry of youth affairs and sports and NSS Regional Directorate, Kolkata is organising a week-long national integration camp at its campus.

About 210 volunteers from 18 states are attending the camp which is based on the theme, “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”. The participants were welcomed by Regional Director, National Service Scheme, Kolkata, Vinay Kumar.
The camp was inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor of Vidyasagar University, Prof. Sibaji Pratim Basu on Wednesday. The inaugural programme which started with flag hoisting, drills, games, campus cleaning and yoga sessions was also attended by Prof. Anuradha Mukhopadhyay, Vice Chancellor, The Sanskrit College and University, Prof. Amiya Kumar Panda, Vice-Chancellor, Sadhu Ram Chand University of Jhargram, Mr. Vinay Kumar, Regional Director, Regional Directorate of NSS, Kolkata and Dr Debdulal Banerjee, NSS Coordinator and Professor, Department of Botany and Forestry, Vidyasagar University.

The Inaugural programme has become a grand and befitting beginning of the seven-day camp. It is followed by an ‘Ice-Breaking Session’ that is supervised by Dr. Saradabrata Laha and conducted by Mr. Raj Shankar Das. The session is being followed by an engaging cultural programme supervised by Ms. Sutanuka Pal and Sanchita Kabi and conducted by Dr. Biswajit Adhikary and Ms. Angshumitra Nag.
