BEHRAMPORE, 20 FEB: The Sabhadhipati of Murshidabad Zilla Parishad, Mr. Musharaf Hossain Mondal alias Madhu joined the Congress party here on Friday.
The Sabhadhipati who was suspended from the Trinamul Congress party two days back was originally elected as the Congress member of the Zilla Parishad years ago. Subsequently he switched over to TMC and came to be elected as Sabhadhipati of TMC-ruled ZP board. The president of Pradesh Congress Committe in Bengal, Mr. Adhir Chowdhury today handed over the party flag to Mr. Mondal who is likely to contest the upcoming Assembly polls from Naoda constituency, sources said.
