KALYANI, 18 OCT: Kalyani University on Monday felicitated journalists and photographers on the occasion of Vijaya Dashami. It is for the first time, Kalyani varsity arranged such a felicitation programme where many journalists scaled a new height in recent times.
Prof Manas Kumar Sanyal, vice-chancellor of KU felicitated the journalists and urged to make balanced news of the university so that people and teaching fraternity are informed about the continuous development works conducted by the university.
The journalist who appreciated the university’s various development works, also urged before Prof Sanyal to give response or make his comment available either through the university’s media cell or through any spokesperson when any journalist calls him to verify any negative news.
Prof Sujay Kumar Mandal, chairman of university’s public relation cell said once journalists were barred from getting entry inside the university premises, but time has changed the whole scenario soon after Prof Sanyal joined the university as vice chancellor. “Prof Sanyal has created such an environment where journalists are allowed to go anywhere inside the university and he always tries to keep a friendly relationship with the journalists,” Prof Mandal said.
Mr Sukhen Acharya, veteran journalist and secretary of Indian Journalist Association (IJA)’s Nadia unit said the university has implemented a lot of development works in recent years where Prof Sanyal has taken a pivotal role.
