The day’s programme began with a rally, followed by the ceremonial hoisting of the organisation’s flag by its president, Dr Dibyendu Samanta, formally inaugurating the celebrations.

Floral tributes were paid to the portrait of the organisation’s founder, the late Sheikh Sharif Ali, fondly known as “Alida”, by secretary Dr Pradip Mahapatra. Members observed the occasion with a renewed commitment to their guiding motto, “Health is Wealth”.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Samanta recalled that the organisation began its journey on 21 February 2011 with just four members. “What started as a small initiative has gradually grown into a disciplined collective,” he said, adding that the platform now has 52 members.

He noted that daily physical exercise sessions are held at the Bidhannagar ground from 6 a.m., concluding at 7 a.m. with the national anthem. “Our aim is not limited to physical fitness alone. Along with the body, the mind must also be nurtured. Only when both are healthy can one achieve overall well-being,” he said.

The president also highlighted the organisation’s involvement in social causes, particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic, when members stepped forward to spread awareness about health and hygiene among residents.

Over the years, the group has brought together individuals from diverse professions, including educationists, agricultural technologists, entrepreneurs, teachers, professors, doctors and government officials, united by a common goal of maintaining physical fitness and promoting a healthy lifestyle.

In a moment of pride for the organisation, Dr Samanta mentioned that one of its members, Mrs Beauty Barik, has established herself as a national-level runner. “Her achievement reflects the dedication and spirit of our members,” he said.

Among those present at the programme were adviser Satyabat Ray, noted entrepreneur Bajrang Lal Agarwala, Dr Dibyendu Samanta, Dr Pradip Mahapatra and other members of the organisation.
