KRISHNAGAR, 14 MAY: In a shocking incident on the day of Eid, a 26-year-old youth hacked his father to death at their house in Doluipur under Haringhata police station limits in Nadia over a trivial dispute today.
Police said the deceased has been identified as Khokon Mondol (45) and his body has been sent to the Kalyani Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial (JNM) hospital for autopsy.
The accused son named as Iman Ali Mondol fled the scene soon after committing the crime.
According to the police, the father and son went to the nearby mosque for Namaz this morning, but they involved in quarrel over a trivial matter after returning from the mosque. During the exchange of words, Iman suddenly became furious and started chopping his father by sharp edge weapon. His father fell on the ground and died on the spot.
