“Our Governor has become a BJP spokesperson and has been working for them since day one. He has become a political mouthpiece for BJP. He has become a microphone for BJP,” said Mr Roy.

He said violence in Bengal have happened both during the post-poll and pre-poll in Bengal but at that time law and order of the state was under Election Commission of India.

When Chief Minister took oath on 5 May in Bengal, marking her third term, from that day Bengal has been restored to peace and safety, he added. Now, the BJP leaders and the Governor, are bringing in NHRC, NCW so that they can prove that, that there is no law and order in Bengal and that the situation is much like Israel and Palestine.

He said NHRC and NCW should first visit UP where dead bodies of Covid patients are floated on the Ganges and atrocities against women are highest in the country.

He said, leaders from opposition parties have joined our party willingly and nobody has been forced or invited to join Trinamul Congress.

“If you look at BJP, for example in different states, like Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Nagaland etc, they are famous for horse-trading different party MLAs, put MLAs in a resort while horse trading is on. If one fails to adhere to BJP’s directives, then their last red is either CBI or ED,” Mr Roy added.

He alleged that Farmers’ Bills have been passed in an undemocratic manner. Due to this, the entire farmers’ union across the nation is on the path of protest. Farmers have announced a massive protest on 26June against the anti-farmer farm laws. Trinamul Congress will extend full support towards this protest.

“Our leader Mamata Banerjee, in the past, has already expressed her support towards the farmers. Previously, BKU’s leader Tikait has also met her to discuss the matter of concern for the farmers in the country,” he said.
