KRISHNAGAR, 16 JUNE: A theft attempt in Krishnagar Collegiate School was foiled after local shop owners notice them. The incident took place at around 8 am today.
The unidentified thieves fled the scene leaving the stolen articles at the site near the Physics laboratory room of the school when a shop owner challenged them from a distance.
The thieves got entry from the ventilator of the lab room and stole some equipment. They even dumped the articles in a sac, but they had to leave the place without taking the sac as some locals started approaching to the site, a shop owner said.
When asked, Manaranjan Biswas, head master of the school said, “The theft attempt was failed as locals were alerted. They could not take anything away from the lab department.”
The school has CC cameras for surveillance, but for the lab room, it has been placed inside the room.
