KRISHNAGAR, 3 MAY: Three members of a family were found murdered with their throats slit under mysterious circumstances at their home at Tuthbagan under Palashipara police station limits in Nadia today.
Police said the deceased have been identified as Domon Rajowar (55), Sumitra Rajowar (50) and their married daughter Mala.
After preliminary interrogating the neighbourers, police gathered two theories which could be the reason behind the killings.
According to locals who narrated the investigating police officials, Mala married to a person who stays outside the state. Mala used to stay in her parents’ house. In the meantime, a local youth developed a relation with Mala. Recently, Mala’s parents didn’t take their relation usual and they asked the youth not to come in their house. Out of anger, the youth may commit the crime last night.
In another observation, Mala’s father had dispute with a local trader which may be the reason behind the killings.
A senior police officer said, “The reason behind the murders has not been ascertained yet, but we are interrogating people and relatives.”
Meanwhile, police have sealed the building and the bodies have been sent to the Saktinagar district hospital for autopsy.
