KOLKATA, 6 JULY: All India Trinamul Congress today demanded an independent judicial inquiry into the incidents in Rajasthan’s Udaipur and Jammu’s Reasi district, where the perpetrators of the crime have a direct link with the BJP.
Trinamul Congress wants an independent judicial inquiry into the BJP’s connection with the accused in the two cases, Riyaz Attari and Talib Hussain Shah, demanded Dr Sashi Panja,state minister for women and child development.
Dr Panja stated these are serious heinous crimes committed in Indian states, and the accused have direct link with the ruling dispensation, i.e., the Bharatiya Janata Party
The accused, Riyaz Attari and Talib Hussain Shah are not just BJP karyakarta (workers) but Shah is also the in-charge of BJP’s IT & Minority Cell in Jammu.” Interestingly he was arrested from Jammu as terrorist.
The heinous crimes taking place in India are a fallout of the insensitive and reprehensible remarks made by BJP spokesperson, who has time and again indulged in hate speeches.
AITC also demands answers from the BJP as to why their spokesperson is being protected and why Nupur Sharma has not been arrested yet?
The Supreme Court recently made valuable observations regarding Nupur Sharma’s remarks on national television. It is a known fact that the ruling dispensation, the BJP, has communal polarised the nation, with their spokesperson spewing hate, day in and day out, she added.
BJP claims these are fringe elements, but the sad reality today is that the fringe itself has become mainstream. All Indians, wanting to live peacefully, are today demanding the arrest of Nupur Sharma and “we question the BJP as to why she’s being protected?” asked Trinamul’s state spokesperson Kunal Ghosh.
BJP has, as usual, maintained stoic silence on the matter but photos of Talib Shah, the accused in the Jammu incident, with Home Minister Amit Shah is viral on the social media, said Kunal Ghosh, state general secretary of AITC.
The real issues of this country are not being looked upon. Rising prices of petrol, diesel, medicines and cooking gas, no jobs for the youth, rampant privatisation of government undertakings, reduction in interest rate of EPF, these issues are being ignored and the country has been polarised as hogwash so that the people don’t question BJP run Centre on the following issues, said Mr Ghosh.
